On another New Layer, used a Pastel Brush set to 35 pixels, Multiply brush mode, 53% brush opacity, Pressure Sensitivity for Opacity icon on, and 100% Flow. Used the same layer mask but this time painted back around the top of the blossom. On a New Layer above, Kyle’s Real Watercolor Big Rough Small Grain was painted onto the image to get a pretty soft sun glow. ( Here are the settings used: Horizon 45, Offset 0, Perspective 57, Altitude 50, Waviness 78, Color dark blue #0b1b4e, Complexity 47, Brilliance 65, Blur 54, Size 0, Height 31, Undulation 40, and Glue Normal.) A layer mask was added and the bloom and leaves were painted back. On a duplicate layer, Flaming Pear’s Flood preset was next used so that it covered up about 3/4 of the bloom.
Then in Photoshop, the Shake Reduction filter was applied – did not make much of a difference in this case. In Lightroom Trey Radcliff’s Sunday Alone preset was applied. What a shame! This image was put together very simply. These are the most beautiful flowers but they only last a day. Took this image recently when the sun was shining so beautifully through the peach Hibiscus bloom. I loved the pinkish tones which this preset brings out….Digital Lady Syd The last step involved going into the PS Camera Raw and applying a favorite preset from David duChemin’s older “ Refining Your Vision in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom” book (all his books are great) named Classic India Split Tone ( here are the very simple settings: use Split Toning section either in Lightroom or Camera Raw and set Highlights Hue to 50, Sat 60, Balance 0, Shadows Hue 266, and Sat 35).
On a stamped layer Nik Viveza 2 was applied to sharpen up the hotel fronts and add a subtle vignette around the edges. In a black layer mask the buildings and trees were painted back. A Channel Mixer Adjustment Layer was added to brighten up the colors – ran a free action by Sparklestock called Ultimate Vibrance. Instead I added the Flaming Pear’s Flood Filter to create a beautiful reflection of the palm trees along the edge of the original water. This image actually has a big pool of water in front with a large sandy beach and people swimming. It is possible to create a random output by clicking the dice button on the main window.Had some fun with this image of some of the hotels and buildings along the beach of Waikiki. The main window of Flood 2 comes with several adjustable slider bars, a few combo menus, a handful of buttons and a preview section so that users can track their progress without switching workspaces. After installing the plugin, users can access it from the Plugins category in the Effects menu. It should be noted that Adobe Photoshop needs to be closed when installing the plugin or otherwise restarted after copying the files to their corresponding location. In order to install Flood 2 manually, users need to extract the contents of the archive it comes packed in and move them into Adobe Photoshop's Plug-Ins folder. Classic or more realistic effects can be achieved by inserting tridimensional waves, reflections or sunlight glitter. Users can set values for waves, radiating ripples, color, perspective and reflection clarity. This plugin can generate bodies of water by overlaying a part of the current image and provides users with adjustable settings for many of its parameters. Flood 2 is a plugin for Adobe Photoshop that was designed to help photographers or people that are interested in photo manipulation to enhance their projects by adding realistic water to the output images.
